that disturb neighbours

call local police.

his angry bellows

remembered


her tears,

frozen in ice cube trays,


had reduced his Scotch

to a misery

                  unfit for Gin.

Geoffrey Aitken is a Friendly Street awarded minimalist poet who writes on Adelaide's unceded Kaurna land, social conscience driven, post-retirement from senior school English teaching, he reaches out to any former students uninspired by curriculum poetry while understanding the value of language. He writes daily to offset the effects of an anxiety driven mood disorder for publishers [AUS] and [UK, US, HR, CAN, FR & CN]. Recently, ‘STREETCAKE’, ‘Stepaway Magazine’ [UK], ‘Vilas Avenue’ [US].
