Intruder
Misa Levey
Joke’s on the thief
I’m poorer than he
I bedazzled the dirt piles
I spit-shined the dust
I taped inspirational posters
of the National Parks over
chipped lead paint
I put all the bills in the oven
I glued multicolored streamers
to the fly tape
I threw a rug over a
hole in the floor
big enough for a thief.
